Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) - The CDBG program is a flexible program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs. This is referred to the Small Cities Block Grant program within West Virginia.

Appalachian Regional Commission - The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) works to increase job opportunities, build human capital, develop infrastructure, and build highway systems all in an effort to make the region globally competitive.

West Virginia Development Office - The West Virginia Development Office actively promotes the growth of the state’s economy through business startups, retention and expansion of existing industry, and the attraction of new industry.

West Virginia Community Development Office - The Community Development office leverages State and federal funding sources and programs in order to promote private-sector investment, revitalize commercial and residential areas, provide public services and facilities, and assist state and local governments in developing solutions within our communities.

Main Street West Virginia - The Main Street program uses a common-sense approach to tackle the complex issue of downtown and neighborhood commercial district revitalization, capitalizing on the history and the resources of the community itself.

West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council - The West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council (WVIJDC) was enacted in 1994 to help determine appropriate investments and funds for clean and safe drinking water and adequate sewer systems within the State.

State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) - The State Historic Preservation Office provides grants to revitalize and maintain established historic sites in order to benefit the entire community.

Small Business Development & Assistance
Polymer Alliance Zone - The Polymer Alliance Zone (PAZ) consists of 71 industrial members of polymer and related industries working to increase the industrial base in Jackson, Mason and Wood counties.

West Virginia Small Business Development Center - The West Virginia Small Business Development Center (WVSBDC) is a division of the West Virginia Development Office and promotes economic development through a program of practical, interrelated services, providing assistance to existing small businesses and the emerging entrepreneur.

WVU Extension Service - Extension services are provided to counties through West Virginia University (WVU) and are focused on building and helping sustain collaborations and partnerships with people and organizations in West Virginia, to improve their lives and communities.

Center for Economic Options - The Center for Economic Options (CEO) supports locally-owned and operated business by serving rural small scale manufacturers, specialty farm entrepreneurs, and artisans within West Virginia.

Area Foundations and Charities
Parkersburg Area Community Foundation - The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF) works to build a permanent pool of funds for the broad charitable needs of the community, to manage these funds efficiently, and to use them effectively in responding to the area's changing needs and opportunities. The Foundation serves Wood, Pleasants, Ritchie, Gilmer, Wirt, Calhoun, Roane, Doddridge and Jackson Counties in West Virginia and Washington County, Ohio.

Sisters of St. Joseph Charitable Fund - The Sisters of St. Joseph focus on health, wellness, and community initiatives. The fund serves communities in Calhoun, Jackson, Ritchie, Roane, Pleasants, Tyler, Wirt and Wood counties in West Virginia, as well as Athens, Meigs and Washington counties in Ohio.

Benedum Foundation - The Benedum Foundation donates throughout West Virginia and includes the program categories of education, health & human services, community development, and economic development.
