Roane County is made up of communities where business is encouraged and supported, where employees still believe in an honest day’s work, and where people are on a first name basis with community leaders. It is a place where residents can enjoy low crime rates, low cost of living, low utility rates and low property taxes.

Rich in oil, gas and timber, Roane County is centrally located within 250 miles of eight major metropolitan areas and able to provide companies with a unique opportunity to access major markets at a reasonable cost through an extensive transportation network connecting to I-77, I-64 & I-79. Thanks to the region’s abundant supply of natural resources, including natural gas and coal, manufacturers enjoy electricity and natural gas at affordable rates, with dependable service.

In Roane County, education is still treasured and respected. The new high school provides secondary education students with unmatched facilities and exposure to new ideas, approaches and technologies. In addition, there are 12 colleges, universities and vocational schools within a 50-mile radius.

The Roane County Economic Development Authority works to market the county, develop infrastructure and access resources to assist existing industry and attract new companies. The EDA staff strives to build a platform to prepare local people to live and work in a global economy. They welcome both new and expanding business ventures.
