Growth is one word that the citizens of Jackson County embrace. Rapid growth demonstrates that we are doing something right. Both businesses and families alike are excited about opportunities that exist and the future of Jackson County.
Jackson County has the best transportation system in the region with major highways, navigational rivers, a public airport with a 4,000-foot general aviation runway, and usable CSX rail. Location is also a vital asset as Jackson County is located within a 30-minute drive to two major metropolitan areas.

Jackson County has West Virginia’s first and only operating inland district port. The Jackson County Martine and Industrial Center has 160 acres of flat bottom land, located outside of the floodplain at the Ohio River. Manufacturing facilities currently located in the area include aluminum, polymer, injection molding, chemical, oil and gas, timber and millwork and trucking facilities.

There can never be enough said about the quality of Jackson County’s workforce. Employees here strive to be the best and are always willing to go the extra mile. Jackson County’s workforce will get the job done. To them, it’s just a way of life – one centered on strong ethics, hard work and taking pride in a job well done.
